Vijay Sethupathi keeps "jail" waiting

It might be strange to know that Vijay Sethupathi, one of the busiest artistes in South, has been keeping a ‘jail’ waiting for his arrival.
The bearded star, who has as many as 5-6 films in various stages of production, recently turned producer as well. The mild-mannered Sethupathi is presently the ‘darling’ of small-budget film producers.

While Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam and Thirudan Police have him essaying cameos, he plays the lead role in films such as Mellisai, Vanmam, Purampokku, Idam Porul Eval, Orange Mittai and Vasantha Kumaran.

Known as an actor who understands his producers’ difficulties, Vijay Sethupathi is very punctual in reporting to the shooting spots of his films.

However, intentionally or unintentionally, he has kept film-maker S.P. Jananathan, who is the director of Purampokku, waiting for a long time.

A huge jail set has been erected at a cost of Rs.1.5 crores and the crew and the director are waiting for Vijay Sethupathi to turn up but as he has been caught up in the shooting schedules of many of his films, he hasn’t been unable to do so!
