Vijay pairs up opposite Sridevi and Shruti Haasan

Vijay is likely to pair up opposite Sridevi, former ‘queen’ of Bollywood and who is considered by many as the best actress to have emanated from the South,
and Shruti Haasan in his upcoming untitled film to be directed by Chimbu Devan.

Chimbu Devan, who has made thought-provoking films such as Arai En 305-l Kadavul and Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaniyum, is all set to direct Vijay for the first time in a film which hasn’t yet been titled. Vijay, who is presently shooting for A.R. Murugadoss’ Kaththi, is likely to start work on Chimbu’s film soon after Deepavali this year.

Sridevi last starred in a direct Tamil film way back in 1986 (28 years back) opposite superstar Rajinikanth in the super-duper hit Naan Adimai Illai. In between, she starred in a bilingual Devaragam but had been refusing many Tamil film offers.

She has now committed to star in Chimbu’s film whose script would be a mix of period type as well as modern era on the lines of Mahadheera.

Sridevi plays a princess and is paired opposite Vijay who would also be romancing Shruti Haasan in another role as he plays dual roles in the film. No other details about the film have been made available as on date. This would be Shruti Haasan’s first film opposite Vijay in Tamil.
