The Shahrukh Khan starrer, Happy New Year is smashing records at the box office. With the grand production banner and high profile star cast, the film stepped into the coveted 100 crores club in India, in just 60 hours of its release.
According to sources close to the production house Red Chillies Entertainment, the film netted the highest opening day in India with a whooping 44.97 crores, inclusive of the Tamil and Telugu versions.
After the second day the Indian net stood at more than 75 crores while after the opening weekend, the all versions' net stands at a mind-boggling 108.86 crores. Happy New Year has been a big opener all across India with a contribution of 2.92 crores from the Telugu version, 1.84 crores from the Tamil version and 104.10 crores from Hindi.
Happy New Year, also starring Deepika Padukone in the lead with Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah in important roles, received mixed to negative reviews from the critics but looks like the film is making it count at the box-office.
