Dhanush produced Kaaka Muttai, premiers at Toronto International Film Festival !!!
National award winning actor and the producer of back to back successful films, Dhanush has produced a film titled ‘Kaaka Muttai’ which is a film about two brothers living in slums.
The film’s director Manikandan has revealed that it won’t emotional flick as one would expect it to be after knowing the one-liner.
Manikandan has said that instead of making an emotional saga, he has tried to present a realistic take on the slum life that is part of Indian cultural lifestyle. Manikandan assures that the film will have a lot of real-life humor and also has three songs that will come as montages. However, there won’t be any dance and song format.
Such an assurance comes from Manikandan as his film has been selected for screening in the 39th Toronto Film Festival in September. The film, which has been co-produced by Vetrimaran and Fox Star Studios will have three screenings on Sept 5, 6 and 13.
Manikandan got the opportunity to direct his first feature film since the Producers liked his short film ‘Wind’. Manikandan said that they wanted him to make films that will have universal acceptability in other words, it should have commercial elements to appeal to the theatre audience and also the ability to impress the Film Festival organizers and patrons.
‘Kaaka Muttai’ stars Ramesh, Ramesh Thilaganathan, Vignesh and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles. The movie is all about two kids who are attracted to Pizza via advertisements and whether they get to taste it or not. G.V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music for this film and the director Manikandan has cranked the camera also.
