Ban on ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Pulipaarvai’ release !!!
AR Murugadoss’ ‘Kaththi’ starring Vijay is all set for release on Diwali, so is Pachamuthu’s ‘Pulipaarvai’. But, these two films might not release on the expected date
after all as a request to ban has been filed on the two films by a lawyer named V Ramesh from Madurai.
V Ramesh claims that ‘Kaththi’ and ‘Pulipaarvai’ hinders the culture and rituals of the Tamil culture and have also portrayed the Sri Lankan Tamils issue in an insensitive way in the films and therefore asks for a ban on release on both films.
Rumors state that the producer of ‘Kaththi’ received funds from the Government of Sri Lanka to include hurtful lines about the Tamils, but that must be a rumour because why would a Kollywood movie intentionally hurt its won people?!
The ‘Pulipaarvai’ film is said to be showing scenes of the late LTTE leader and his son’s death in a very unconventional way and therefore the request to ban. More odd rumors also say that these films insult Tamils all over the world by showing them as terrorists and much more. The judge handling this case is N Kirubakaran has postponed judgement on the ban until further investigation.
